Art Portfolio

As an art therapist, I wholeheartedly embrace the profound therapeutic potential of art. Through my own artistic practice, I endeavor to deepen my self-awareness, exploring my inner landscape, my role within interpersonal relationships, and my interactions with clients. I firmly believe that the act of creating art serves as a meditative process, seamlessly merging the realms of consciousness and the unconscious. Each artwork I create becomes a canvas of my emotions, a reflection of my thought processes, and an opportunity to uncover and address my biases. This journey through art allows me to continually evolve both as a therapist and as a human being.

Meet Avery on Instagram

Amid the extended semi-lockdown during the New York pandemic, I felt the fear and anger brought on by the virus, along with the unfortunate rise in aggression toward the Asian community. This challenging time also led me to a sense of loneliness and isolation. The feelings prompted a spontaneous idea – why not cultivate a new interest? So, I began drawing my beloved cat, Peipei, with digital Procreate. Through this learning journey, I gained a valuable life lessons from observing cat behavior. I came to realize that our feline companions are truly mentors in self-care!

To share my creations and inspire others to learn new skills and grow together, I created this Instagram account. However, some followers expressed curiosity about my background in art therapy. Hence, this account not only shares information about art therapy and psychological counseling but also conveys care and humor through creative works.
